NW Bubble
by oregonandme
This photo was taken at Fort Stevens near Astoria, Oregon. We were hanging out at our yurt camp site with the kids blowing bubbles. I noticed the reflection of the trees in the bubble and had to grab my camera. You can see me in the middle of the picture if you look closely.

Tulip Festival
by oregonandme
April showers bring May flowers. Or sometimes April showers bring April flowers in Oregon. Beautiful tulips at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR show up in April every year.

A view of Oregon, from Stonehenge
by oregonandme
I took this photo in June 2007 from Maryhill Stonehenge in the state of Washington at a replica of Stonehenge. Yes, the Stonehenge from England! This one was built in 1929 as a memorial to those who died in World War I. In the picture you see the Columbia River (largest river in the Pacific NW) and Interstate 84 (the rough path of the Oregon Trail) that curves along the river for about 150 miles. A beautiful drive any day of the year!

Sea Foam
by oregonandme
This picture was taken in Lincoln City on a stormy afternoon this past September. I went for a walk down to the beach and initially thought this foam was part of the waves, but on closer inspection, it was foam. It’s a natural occurring thing called Sea Foam, but to me it was like the ocean was turning into a rootbeer float. And as usual, typical Oregon weather, you looked to the left and there was nothing but grey sky, […]

Astoria Riverfront Trolley
by oregonandme
The riverfront trolley train tracks in Astoria, Oregon. Astoria as a port was established well over 200 year ago. To feel the history in this picture and then to notice the cruise ship under the middle of the bridge, makes you remember how quickly things can change in what seems like a long length of time.

Coffenbury Lake
by oregonandme
In May of this year, my family had our yearly yurt camping adventure at Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria, Oregon. Fort Stevens is known for Lewis and Clark as well as a military base from the Civil War to WWII. There is a beautiful and calm lake, Coffenbury Lake, near the campgrounds, that is so quiet and amazing and the park offers kayaking on it. We took a group excursion early one morning, and I fell in love with […]
